PROJECT DESCRIPTION<\/b>
\nThe project aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of fruit and vegetable value chains in the central region of Mozambique. The objective is to assess the key actors and the value added at the different stages of the chain, in order to guide the design and sizing of the Multifunctional Agro-Food Centre (CAAM).<\/p>\n

This study will aim to develop a sustainable business model for the CAAM, supporting the creation of a dynamic and inclusive territorial governance and initiating the design phase of the centre. The project will be implemented following international methodologies for the analysis and promotion of value chains, such as the EU Value Chain Analysis for Development (VCA4D) methodology.<\/p>\n

  1. REQUIREMENTS<\/b>
    \nThe project requires a detailed analysis of the value chains for local fruit and vegetable products and the stakeholders involved. It must identify the main actors, assess the added value and its distribution, and analyse criticalities and strengths. In addition, an assessment of the socio-environmental impact in the province of Manica will be necessary. It will be crucial to collect data on prices, services, taxes and levies, as well as to analyse market potential and bottlenecks, in order to forecast production and size the CAAM appropriately.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    EXPECTED RESULTS<\/b>
    \nThe expected outcomes of the project include:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. In-depth analysis of selected value chains (fruits, vegetables and tubers) and relevant actors in these value chains in the central region of Mozambique.<\/li>\n
    2. Economic and financial analysis and the development of at least three different business models.<\/li>\n
    3. Preparation of architectural sketches (at least three) and technical dimensioning of the CAAM.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      SPECIFICATIONS<\/b>
      \nCibuSalus is involved in the pre-feasibility project for the construction of an agri-food centre in Mozambique, the first intervention funded by the Mattei Plan to strengthen and expand cooperation with Africa. Over the course of six months, the project will develop a proposal for the ideal layout of the agri-food centre, aimed at meeting specific local needs and stimulating the development of Mozambique’s agricultural economy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
