NEEDS: The Administration of the Metropolitan City of Cagliari requested CibuSalus’s technical assistance to implement the “SmartFood” System Action of the Metropolitan Strategic Plan. The aim was to promote fair, sustainable and resilient food systems in the entire urban area.
RESULT: CibuSalus supported the Client by defining and developing the Food Plan priorities. The Food Plan of the Metropolitan City of Cagliari was centred on the understanding of territorial needs and priorities.
These emerged from the territorial analysis and stakeholder engagement. The Plan included the definition of 31 actions, developed according to four general objectives that the Metropolitan City will carry out in the coming years:
1. Promoting food as an educational and social resource
2. Promoting healthy food
3. Encouraging food as a tool for sustainability
4. Supporting local economy development through the enhancement of local products
SPECIFICATIONS: Institutions, businesses, citizens and stakeholders were actively involved through a participatory methodology. The analysis of the city’s context enabled it to identify its strengths and territorial needs.
